Mot sure if anyone here is familiar with Thunderbean. It is a small, independent company which for the last 10 years has been producing high quality DVDs and lately Blu Rays. They delve mostly in 1920s-1940s animation. Mostly public domain but recently some licensed product too. You may have caught the owner Steve Stanchfield on TCM’s recent animation night. He writes a regular blog on Cartoon Brew and in today’s entry talking about current and upcoming projects he wrote:

“Some of the projects we’re working on aren’t cartoony at all. A Blu-ray of Abbott and Costello rarities is the furthest along of these titles, and I’m enjoying seeing so many things I had never seen before.”

No other clue about what this may be, but I can attest if Thunderbean is doing it, it is likely rare and/or usually seen in poor condition. Total guess–how about quality prints of the Colgate Hour?

I thought I would drop by to let you know this is finally available as a pre order at http://www.thunderbeananimation.com/

You can see the description there and some stills. Includes the Colgate hour that Lou missed, bond drive footage, etc. The preorder gets you an additional disc that won’t be included in the official release.
