What season did you prefer, 1 or 2, and which is your favorite episode?
It’s actually a little tough to choose. I prefer Season 1 overall as I like Hilary and Stinky and that several of the episodes were done outdoors, which felt more like their films. I liked season two as I felt the episodes were a little more zanier and bizarre.
The episode I enjoyed the most overall was Season 2: Episode 8: South of Dixie. It was just most bizarre and fresh for me to see them in a Civil War setting. I didn’t like that the plot had them in a play. I wish it was just a flashback episode to their grand fathers/uncles in the war,or perhaps a dream of Lou’s after a knock on the head. The zaniness of the episode would have felt more in perspective those ways. If that makes sense. Anyway, I enjoyed that for the unique historical situation they were in.
I definitely prefer Season One. I find that I watch those at a 3/1 clip over the Season Two episodes for some reason. Not sure about a favorite episode. I’ll have to think about it some more. Good question!
Sidney Fields, Mike the Cop, Hillary Brooke, Stinky, and Mr. Bacciagalupe were also great in the show. One of my favorite episodes was when Costello is in a jail cell with a demented man played by Mr. Fields. He keeps saying, “Slowly I turned; step by step; inch by inch.” Then whenever Costello says Niagara Falls, Fields attacks him. It was hilarious then and is still hilarious now.
