What are your Top 5 Favorite Abbott & Costello films? Mine are Dance with Me Henry, Lost in Alaska… LOL, just kidding.

My list, in no particular order, would be:

    Keep ‘Em Flying
    Ride ‘Em Cowboy
    Hit the Ice
    In Hollywood
    Meet Frankenstein

I gave money for a small local theater to be build and thus get to pick which movie I want. I’m picking my top favorite which is Who Done It?

    My top 5 are:

    • Who Done It?
    • Hit The Ice
    • Pardon My Sarong
    • The Naughty Nineties
    • Meet Frankenstein

Good picks, Dan. I enjoy all those a lot! Who Done It? and Pardon My Sarong are in my Top 10, and The Naughty Nineties is right behind them. So I love the picks you gave.

Any of the films that were done before Lou came down with the Fever were fantastic in my book. And I’m good with just about everything up through the “Split”. For me the big cutoff is after A & C Meet the Killer. After that film I felt things went south in a hurry. Of the final 11 movies after that one I only liked 4 or 5. I rarely watch that portion of the boys career, instead opting for their offerings from the 40’s.

I hear what you’re saying about their later films, but after Meet the Killer I do enjoy Meet the Invisible Man. It’s not that the energy and humor are all that fantastic, but the overall plot and subject matter I feel is solid.

Dan, I’m with you again. Meet the Invisible Man is one of the few 50’s titles I really like a lot. The others I like from that time period would be Mars, Mummy and Jekyll/Hyde.

In no particular order, I’d pick:

    Hold That Ghost
    Who Done it?
    Meet Frankenstein
    Meet Invisible Man
    Time of their lives

Meet Invisible Man is a remake of an earlier Invisible Man flick from Universal; same music, general plot and even some reused footage! Universal’s contract with the HG Wells estate to make one more Invisible Man film was fast running out so they probably went with the safer option to remake one with A&C. Good thing too, as I think its a solid entry

Some very interesting responses. It looks like only some of us prefer the earlier films, while others definitely gravitate toward the late 40’s and 50’s films. Of course, that’s what makes the world [of A&C] go round. :)

    Lifetime Fan

As a kid in the early 70’s, I would rush home from church on Sunday mornings to watch “A and C” on NYC WPIX 11 at 11:30…. Followed by a “Blondie” movie then a “Samuel Goldwyn Presents” feature.

Here are my five, but honestly, I love them all.

    Time of Their Lives
    Hit the Ice
    Meet The Killer, Boris Karloff
    Buck Privates Come Home
    Hold That Ghost
